Car Interiors & Hoods
In our specialist 'Coach Trimming' workshop, we carry out interior retrim work and manufacture and fit hoods and other weather equipment.
We are able to tackle any car trimming project, be it large or small. Typical jobs we undertake include: full interior retrims to classic and sports cars; manufacturing and fitting hoods; car seat retrimming including the re-shaping seats, e.g. to convert a standard seat to a ‘sports’ seat; making tonneau covers and hood covers; even designing bespoke luggage.
Heading up our coach trimming workshop is Shaun McGuire, a vastly experienced car trimmer who has worked on car upholstery for a very wide range of sports, classic and prestige cars.
Shaun started his career working at the Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell, where he trained as both a mechanic and a car trimmer. He then moved from Aston Martin to run the successful family car trimming business started by his father. After working there for 11 years, Shaun joined Allon White Sports Cars in 2002.
In additional to ‘normal’ trim jobs on customers’ cars, Shaun has had his car trimming work exhibited at the Geneva and Detroit Motor Shows, and undertaken work for some of the well known automotive design studios.
Assisting Shaun is our second coachtrimmer George Cannon who joined us over 8 years ago and has proved an invaluable addition to our trimshop.

Bespoke trimming
Although some of our work involves fitting pre-made trim kits, a lot of what we do is on a bespoke basis, turning ‘raw’ materials into finished trim items, either using the old items as a pattern, or else working totally from scratch where no pattern exists. Where a pattern is not available, then we rely on photos and research and discussions with the customer to produce the desired result.
For bespoke work, we believe in spending plenty of time with our customers in order to understand their needs and to discuss possible options and ideas. There is usually more than one way of carrying out a project, and we want to ensure our solution is right for an individual client.

Prices for interior trim and hoods
As regards the charges for our bespoke car trimming work, we calculate these on a project by project basis, based on actual hours worked and materials used.
We are always happy to advise and provide estimates on any work you may have in mind. Initially we can normally provide 'ballpark' figures based on phone and email conversations and ideally some good quality photos. However, to pin down accurate prices, there is no substitute for you visiting our premises and talking through the work, and wherever possible, us seeing your vehicle.
We also have a range of 'fixed price' work we are able to carry out on some of the more common types of work we do. For example, routine trimming on Lotus and Morgan, and fitting new hoods to modern sports cars and the more common classic cars such as MGBs or TVRs.
