The Esprit S4 was launched in 1994 and was the last of the 4 cylinder models, designed by Julian Thomson, and became one of the longest-lived Esprit models with 625 produced. It retained the rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and continued the legacy of Lotus' lightweight, high-performance engineering.
It introduced power steering for the first time in the Esprit lineup, improving handling balance and grip. The suspension geometry was revised, enhancing straight-line stability and turn-in response.
The Lotus Esprit S4 delivers an exhilarating driving experience, blending lightweight agility with turbocharged power. It features a 2.2-liter inline-four turbocharged engine, producing 264 bhp and 261 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 169 mph
