Launched in 2000, as Morgan’s all-new flagship, the Aero 8 was the first all-aluminium coachbuilt Morgan. Featuring an aluminium chassis and hand-formed aluminium body work, Aero 8’s 4.4 litre V8 was the first BMW powertrain in a Morgan, a partnership that has endured for more than 25 years.
Continually developed and with additional models joining the Aero family over the years, it was the much rarer coupe variant that arrived in 2012 that finally offered the fixed roof that so many fans craved and a decent sized boot area.
The engine was increased to the BMW 4.8 litre in the later production cars propelling the car to 60mph from parked in the 4.5 seconds before topping out at 170mph, it's a car that can actually be driven rather leisurely or with enthusiasm and has an exhaust note to die for.
